This program is an 8- 10 week comprehensive sexuality education class that teaches older elementary kids about a range of topics related to growing older and healthy relationships. This class is informed by the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education produced by the National Guidelines Task Force, a group of leading health, education, and sexuality professionals assembled by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS). In every category of assessment, the curriculum meets or exceeds the National Standards for Sexuality Education Core Curriculum, K-12 (PDF). This class is only available for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
Topics that will be covered are listed below. Some classes may be combined for the 8 week class, which will mean class will run a bit late on 2 days. Parents will be informed ahead of time. Parent participation is strongly encouraged and reflects family discussion through homework assignments. Students will be provided with a copy of It's Perfectly Normal, by Harris & Emberly.

This would start early December, break over the holidays, and continue into February. Most likely after school Thursdays, Fridays, or Mondays.
This would start either before/after Spring Break, and go into May. Unsure right now if this will be offered as my graduate program starts ramping up this semester.
This could be offered as a condensed class of twice per week, either June or July. This can happen IF AND ONLY IF parents are committed to the homework portion, as it gets heavy twice a week.
